come and explore the inspiration behind the music and the songs.
Written from the heart in an unscripted way from my studio's desk directly to you.
A composer begins to narrate a story through a composition for you, with just enough information to spark your imagination and for you to complete the story. In the mind of a child where there are things missing from his life, the one and only thing that matters is what he sees through music, I know it's odd but let me explain. When a child is in the womb during the development stages of early life. I'm sure that just like most other small humans, babies are able to see music not just from the actual and obvious suspects; a song, a mother's voice, the noise of the surrounding space and void, etc. The early signs of interaction with the outside world is movement but also sight. You know that feeling that you know where sound comes from when you have your eyes close and you are still able to position yourself in the space? That's what I mean. It all starts with that piece of imagination and the rest is the beginning of what a composer sees when there is a feeling of empowering or the longing of a particular someone that disappeared because they didn't know how to react to my honesty and all the sudden they were afraid of getting to know me. Or when there is a spark that moves me when I'm thinking of a friend who is getting married and the main question is, what song would this newly wedded couple would dance to? "Roses" came as a vision of two individuals dancing away the night to a particular melody that hangs from a tree like a hammock that moves east to west in the middle of an windy afternoon fill with leaves of roses falling on their face. A conversation between bride and groom. Both are thinking as they move through the dance floor and all the people around them see how easy and free they are when their feet glide. Fall into my arms and let me be your protector says the groom, as the bride lets her hair flow in an endless motion like a leaf falling to the ground and both get to be lost in the universe of that moment. What I have just describe to you is nothing but the beginning of the tile piece called "Roses". When there is an indescribable moment that can only be capture with a song and the movement needs to meet the energy in the room as the audience watches the bridge and groom dance away the night and there's nothing in between the gaze of one another. The weightless moment in which both are so close to feel each other's breath, that's called "Roses Andante". Who knew that love was just an instant in life that in the blink of an eye disappears. Remember when I asked how do you see the spaces between the notes? I really believe that music is that space between the notes, that are more than capable of marking our lives, like a scent of a perfume. There is something about creating a playlist or sharing music with someone. It shows that I care and that I am willing to be vulnerable enough to let my guard down for a moment for you to get to know me. Next time you listening to one of my compositions, think about the spaces left behind. The spaces that often are often left unheard, "Roses Allegro" has the same spaces as the other two, the main difference is the speed on which each note is separated on the pentagram. I hope that as a composer and a story teller, I'm able to leave my mark behind. There are things in life that no one is able to show you or explain to you. Life is about experience and to experience life is to live freely and in peace. Sincerely yours,
RM
